Alan began his career at Kimmel & Associates in 1997 and quickly built a network of both clients and candidates in the General Construction Division in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. He worked hard to serve his clients and candidates, who relied on his knowledge and insight. Now, Alan focuses those efforts on the Midwest region.
Alan earned a degree in Accounting from Ben Franklin University, an affiliate of George Washington University.
Prior to beginning his career with Kimmel & Associates, he worked in the restaurant industry in both ownership and operations for 25 years in FL, DC, MD, VA, SC, NC, TN, and MO. Alan has also had a number of partners in the real estate industry.
Alan was promoted to Vice President for the General Construction Division in 2002, and in 2012, he was promoted to Executive Vice President. In 2013, Alan was awarded Group Leader of the Year, and in 2014, he was inducted into Kimmel & Associates’ Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding work.
Outside of work, Alan is involved in serving his community. He spent a year going through Leadership Asheville, and he was on the Board of Directors for Asheville Community Theatre and the Board and Election Committee of the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce. He previously held the position of Co-President of Congregation Beth Israel.
Alan grew up in Miami Beach, FL, the oldest of three sons. He and his wife, Suzy, have been married for 20 years. Alan has two sons, Mark and Aaron, and one daughter, Jessica, as well as one granddaughter, Talia. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, boating, traveling internationally, and kayaking.
