We sat down with Bo and asked him the following:

  • What do you like most about working at Kimmel & Associates?
Kimmel is a family company with strong values and an emphasis on shared success. There is a structure about our operational procedures and we care about doing things the right way, but we are not a corporate monolith. There’s a balance.
  • What is one thing you learned early in your career that has made you successful?
Perseverance: get knocked down 9 times and get up 10.
  • What can clients and candidates expect from you?
I will work hard, I’ll shoot straight, and I’ll be available to you. I care about the clients and candidates with whom I work, and there is a sense of purpose in what I do.
  • What makes you different from other recruiters in your industry?
I only recruit for companies that I would be happy to join. I only present candidates whom I would hire. From what I’m told, this is a breath of fresh air in my industry.
  • Describe the most rewarding experience of your career.
When we work with a candidate who is undervalued, underappreciated, and underpaid and we can find them a new role in which all three of those things change significantly, there is nothing like it. On my best days, I’ve shared tears of joy with those whose lives and whose families will benefit from the work my team has done.
  • Do you have a favorite book, movie, or quote?
Give me a dark comedy. My current favorite show is Succession. There is not one redeemable character. The behavior is wicked. It’s all a scream. My current favorite book is American Dirt – flowery prose and a story of survival against the worst parts of human nature.
  • Personal interests?
I love to travel - doesn’t have to be exotic; we live in quite a country if you know where to look. I love to cook and hike. My family and I go on adventures whenever we can.
