Associate

Steve joined Kimmel & Associates in 2025, as an Associate serving the Midwest mechanical market.

Steve’s professional background includes business development, operations management, recruitment/human resources, behavioral health, and crisis response. He is an intuitive people leader and educator.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.

Outside of the office, Steve enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

We sat down with Steve and asked him the following:

• What do you like most about working at Kimmel & Associates?
  The Servant’s Heart approach to doing business. Growing up I was taught to live in service to others and my community. It was exciting to find a group of people that practice it in how they do business.
• What is one thing you learned early in your career that has made you successful?
  I learned early on that when I make a mistake or fail at something, the best thing to do is to learn the lesson, make the necessary changes, and then move forward.
• What is your greatest strength in your role?
  I have a genuine interest in what motivates and excites others.
• Describe the most rewarding experience of your career.
  For 5 years I worked full time with my wife in her business. It wasn’t easy, but I look back now and see what an incredible opportunity it was to work beside such a beautiful and talented person.
• Favorite book?
  The Martian by Andy Weir.
• What causes are you passionate about?
  I’m a huge fan of the work that The SPARC Foundation and My Daddy Taught Me That are doing in our community.
• Personal interests?
  Hanging out with my kiddos and wife, eating good food, cooking, the Carolina Panthers, and going to movies.
