About the Company:
Seeking a Lead Estimator to deliver cost-estimating services for Civil Construction projects. This position shall report to the Project Controls Manager.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver cost-estimating services.
• Lead preparation of independent cost estimates for negotiating GMP, FFP, and BAFO for the construction contracts during the negotiation phase and independent cost estimates for negotiating construction claims during the construction phase.
• Develop and negotiate unit prices for items not in the contract in the negotiation of claims.
• Review contractors' monthly payment applications. Independently obtain verification of physical percent complete of work and recommends payment application to LACMTA for approval.
• Lead and deliver the cost-estimating scope of services
Requirements:
• Approximately 15 years' experience in estimating heavy civil engineering projects of similar size and complexity; experience working for a contractor is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience on design-build; experience with progressive design-build delivery models is preferred.
• Experience leading negotiations for heavy civil contracts.
