About the Position:
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Manager or Senior Mechanical Engineer on behalf of our client to lead and contribute to the design of industrial facilities, with a strong emphasis on food and pharmaceutical production environments. This role requires deep expertise in mechanical system design, hygienic principles, and process optimization. A key component of this position is mentoring and developing the next generation of engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the design of mechanical systems for food and pharmaceutical production facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and hygienic design principles.
- Develop and implement solutions for refrigeration systems, compressed gas systems, boiler/steam systems, glycol systems, heat recovery systems, and process waste systems.
- Provide technical expertise throughout the planning, design, and construction phases of projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure mechanical systems meet operational, safety, and sanitation requirements.
- Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and professional development.
- Stay current with industry regulations, trends, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and efficiency in system designs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related four-year degree.
- Professional Engineering (PE) Licensure required.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, with a strong preference for mechanical experience in food production, pharmaceutical, or other sanitary environments.
- Expertise in hygienic design, refrigeration, steam systems, and process waste management.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively guide teams and interact with clients.
