About the Role

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager with deep experience in the operation, maintenance, and oversight of central utility plants, including chiller and boiler systems. This is a hands-on, field-oriented role focused on the performance, reliability, and efficiency of mechanical infrastructure within large-scale facilities, such as hotels, casinos, or institutional campuses.

The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical background, understands the full lifecycle of central plant systems, and is confident managing contractors, maintenance schedules, and capital upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems, with emphasis on boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and associated infrastructure.
  • Act as the owner's representative for capital repair, replacement, and optimization projects related to mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate with facilities, engineering, and construction teams to schedule preventative maintenance and system upgrades.
  • Lead or support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of HVAC and central plant systems.
  • Review equipment performance data and recommend efficiency improvements or system modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Manage contractor relationships and evaluate vendor proposals for service contracts, repairs, or system enhancements.
  • Maintain detailed records of system performance, inspections, and service history.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical project management, HVAC operations, or central plant maintenance.
  • Expertise in chiller and boiler systems, including water- and air-cooled chillers, hot water/steam boilers, and related controls.
  • Strong understanding of system diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and energy efficiency principles.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and contractor management skills.
