About the Position
The company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Preconstruction Manager to join their team. This pivotal role will be responsible for leading and managing the preconstruction phase of the company’s projects, ensuring successful project delivery from the initial concept through to construction start. The Senior Preconstruction Manager will work closely with internal teams, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure budgets, schedules, and project scopes are clearly defined and achievable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead preconstruction efforts for state, municipal, and commercial projects ranging from $2 million to $10 million in size.
  • Develop accurate project budgets and schedules, working closely with estimators and project managers.
  • Review plans and specifications to identify potential issues and develop strategies to mitigate risks during construction.
  • Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure accurate project scopes.
  • Provide support during the bidding process, including coordinating bids, evaluating contractor proposals, and making recommendations.
  • Monitor project progress during preconstruction and adjust plans as needed to stay on track.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in preconstruction management within the commercial, municipal, or state construction sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of Construction Management at Risk (CM @ Risk) delivery methods.
  • Proven experience in managing project budgets and schedules for projects ranging from $2 million to $10 million in size.
  • Expertise in reviewing and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
