About the Position
The Transit Systems Coordinator will work closely with the System Engineering Consultant to oversee the systems design and construction for projects. This position ensures effective integration of systems and civil works, including coordinating all interfaces between systems-to-systems and civils-to-systems. The role involves managing interfaces, reviewing designs, and providing oversight during design and construction to guarantee all system elements are properly integrated and meet the specified requirements.

As part of the project team, the Transit Systems Coordinator will also review bid documents to ensure clear communication of interface requirements across adjacent and follow-on contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight of the LACMTA Contractor’s systems design and construction for the Core LRT Scope.
  • Ensure proper integration of system elements within themselves, existing systems, and the LPA.
  • Manage system interfaces, including systems-to-systems and civils-to-systems.
  • Review designs and provide interface and configuration management during design and construction phases.
  • Review bid documents to ensure clear communication of interface requirements with adjacent and follow-on contracts.

Requirements:

  • Approximately 12 years of experience in design interface management and system integration for LRT projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) rules and regulations is desirable.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred.
