About the Position:

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director/CEO to lead VIWMA. The Executive Director will be responsible for ensuring the Authority’s financial integrity, compliance with local and federal environmental regulations, and effective service delivery across all islands. Initially, the Executive Director will manage key reconstruction projects, including the rebuilding of water and wastewater treatment facilities on St. Thomas, St. Croix, and St. John, as well as the closure of the Anguilla landfill and the expansion of the Bovoni landfill. The position also involves strategic leadership, financial oversight, and collaboration with the Board of Directors to achieve long-term success and sustainability for the region’s waste management systems.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Business, or a related field is required; an Advanced degree is preferred.
• Proven executive-level experience in the construction and management of large water and wastewater systems, gained from contracting, construction management, engineering, or water authority.
• Strong strategic thinking skills, driving collaborative leadership and fostering relationships with key stakeholders.
• Experience in financial oversight, navigating federal regulations and compliance, and leading large-scale infrastructure projects.
• A commitment to making a lasting impact on the waste management and environmental health of the Virgin Islands.
