About the Position:
The Risk Manager will support the risk and project controls team in implementing and managing the risk management program for the project. This position requires a highly skilled professional with experience in risk management, particularly within the design-build rail sector. The Risk Manager will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the Risk Register, facilitating Risk Workshops, assessing risk impacts, and ensuring effective risk mitigation strategies are in place throughout the project's lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and management of the risk management program for the project.
- Prepare and maintain the Risk Register and the Risk and Contingency Management Plan (RCMP).
- Lead and conduct Risk Workshops with project teams and subject matter experts to update and refine the Risk Register.
- Collaborate with the team to estimate the schedule and cost impacts of risk events, identifying and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Track the implementation of risk mitigations and ensure proper follow-up.
- Conduct Risk Workshops with the FTA PMOC to secure the FFGA and continue throughout construction.
- Prepare and oversee the contingency drawdown curve and ensure proper management of contingency funds. Update the RCMP accordingly as drawdowns occur.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- Approximately 20 years of experience in program management and construction management, specifically in design-build rail projects.
- At least 8 years of experience conducting risk assessments within New Starts programs.
- Experience in claims management for alternative delivery contracts such as Design-Build, CM/GC, and CMAR.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking capabilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive project information.
- Expertise in risk management processes, particularly in large-scale construction projects.
- Effective communication and facilitation skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
