About the Position
We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Relations Manager to assist LACMTA with construction relations and community outreach efforts. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in advising the project team of any stakeholder issues and developing effective strategies to engage the community. This individual will also ensure that communications are clear, timely, and relevant, and will oversee public outreach meetings and the preparation of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with construction relations and community outreach efforts, providing guidance and advising the project team on stakeholder concerns.
  • Develop and manage stakeholder engagement strategies, including communication strategies utilizing digital and social media platforms.
  • Ensure that all outreach communications are timely and relevant to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate public outreach meetings and assist with the preparation of informational materials.
  • Perform other construction relations and outreach activities as outlined in the scope of work.
  • Availability to work irregular hours, split shifts, weekends, holidays, or 24-hour on-call assignments, as needed.
  • Must be flexible to work after regular hours for special assignments or emergencies.

Requirements

  • Six years of relevant experience in public affairs or community relations, or three years of relevant supervisory-level experience planning, implementing, and managing public relations projects for a government agency. Experience in public transportation planning and operations is preferred.
  • Degree in a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage public outreach efforts, including facilitating meetings and preparing materials.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and on-call duties.
  • Knowledge of digital and social media platforms for stakeholder communication.
