As they continue to grow and expand their portfolio, they are seeking an experienced Senior Project Controls Manager to join their team.

About the Position

The Electrical/IT Inspector will be responsible for conducting inspections on a wide range of electrical and IT systems in public works right of ways, buildings, tenant improvement renovations, and civil electrical work. This position requires deep knowledge of electrical components, low-voltage IT systems, and local code requirements. The role will involve inspecting electrical rough and finishes, high-voltage gear, electrical panels, conduit racks, grounding systems, fire safety systems, and IT systems such as door card readers and security cameras.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on inspection experience, particularly in airfield lighting or building construction, and will be able to work independently and collaboratively within large programs. This role is integral to ensuring that all work complies with industry standards, safety protocols, and local codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections on electrical installations, low-voltage IT systems, and civil electrical work.

  • Inspect electrical rough and finishes, including high-voltage gear, electrical panels, conduit racks, grounding systems, and fire life & safety systems.

  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety requirements.

  • Inspect IT systems, including door card readers, security cameras, and communication systems.

  • Write clear and concise reports detailing daily progress and inspections, including documenting any changes or issues encountered.

  • Collaborate with other inspectors, stakeholders, and the construction community to ensure work progresses efficiently and safely.

  • Prepare monthly progress payment requests, track changes, and verify time/materials as required.

  • Utilize computer software to review contract documents, manage submittals, RFI's, and other inspection-related documents.


Requirements

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience performing electrical/IT inspections. For tasks on the airfield, at least 3 years of experience with airfield lighting is required.

  • Knowledge: Familiarity with low-voltage IT systems and electrical systems including underground utilities, high-voltage gear, electrical panels, breakers, interior and exterior lighting, fire safety systems, and communication systems.

  • Education/Training:

    • High school diploma (or equivalent).

    • CAL OSHA-30 certification.

    • Completion of NFPA-13 training and certification.

  • Skills:

    • Proficient in basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email).

    • Ability to write clear and concise inspection reports and document project progress.

    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with colleagues, stakeholders, and non-construction personnel.

    • Must be open to learning and adapting to prescriptive items required by the agency.

    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and utilize electronic equipment for contract document management.
