About the Position

The company is seeking a strategic and compliance-oriented Human Resources Director to lead and enhance the company’s HR operations. Reporting to senior leadership, this role will be a critical partner in ensuring the organization remains compliant with all HR regulations and delivers competitive, well-managed benefit programs to support employee well-being and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.

  • Lead the design, administration, and evaluation of group medical, dental, vision, life, and ancillary benefit plans.

  • Conduct periodic reviews of the company’s retirement plans (401(k), profit-sharing, etc.), ensuring competitiveness and compliance.

  • Manage required employee notices and documentation related to benefits, compliance, and HR policies.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and managers on HR best practices, risk mitigation, and employee relations.

  • Partner with finance and legal departments to align HR initiatives with overall company goals.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role.

  • Proven experience within the construction, engineering, or related industries is highly desirable.

  • Deep knowledge of benefits design, compliance requirements (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, etc.), and retirement plan governance.

  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR documentation requirements.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and foster cross-functional collaboration.
